My Guy
I needed my design wall back. This quilt has hung there since the first of June, following its mostly complete construction at a quilt retreat at that time. Frustration often sparks action, doesn't it? All it needed was the outermost borders. So now it goes into the closet to join other UFOs. I will quilt it under the gun no doubt as is my wont. I work best to deadlines. It is destined for our guild's charity project due in April.
The pieces made at Jacquie Gering's workshop on Tuesday of this week have to be laid out so I can see what's what.

Love the red pop!
ReplyDeleteThis pattern, "My Guy", was from the June 2009 edition of American Patchwork & Quilting. I started it at a quilting retreat last month and the plaids and drab brown background just kinda laid there. One of my friends suggested some red and you are right, it perked it up. There were going to be confetti-like sprinkles of red, yellow, and orange triangles fused over the top, but I have lost interest and moved along. I call it done.
DeleteI am sure you will finish it, if as you say you have lost interest it is best to put it away until the interest returns!
ReplyDeleteJust last night I was thinking that I'm glad I don't have a permanent design wall, because the last thing I would want would be to have some half done quilt hanging there, nagging me all the time!
ReplyDeleteThis one looks great, congrats on finishing the flimsy!
Such a cool quilt!
