Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

I am piecing a quilt top for a friend's baby boy and this is as far as I got today. The rest of the top has a bit of very easy fusible applique, rick rack and prairie points. The pattern is from Scrap Quilts magazine by Fons & Porter, Fall 2012 and the pattern is by Karen DuMont. Once this one is finished, I will be starting a second  in the girl's version. My sister has asked for help in producing a quilt for her friend.

  1. Rick rack! I love rick rack. This is a cute quilt, and I like the plaid for a boy's quilt. It'll be fun to see the finish!

  2. this is working so well, as Monica said the plaid is great for a boy.

    1. I like the look of the plaid, but the fabric itself is not the easiest to work with. It is somewhat more stretchy than normal quilting cotton so I had to be careful with it.

    2. Too right. I had the same issue with some plaid Christmas fabric. But I love plaid, so I'm not giving up on it yet!
