But so worth the effort. It's not real sweet either. More rich than sweet.<br />Mary Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04066177625064170284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7196337009357860734.post-48953965972246086112014-02-25T11:48:46.708-06:002014-02-25T11:48:46.708-06:00Well, not as much as you might think. Whipping the cream for the top is easy - the mixer does all the work. I have made this so many times over the years that I know all the tricks and having a food processor and stand mixer makes all the difference.Mary Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04066177625064170284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7196337009357860734.post-46012279668498011242014-02-25T07:11:22.315-06:002014-02-25T07:11:22.315-06:00That cake is a work of art and love. I am learning that patient, diligent cooks are often quilters too--and they get the greatest joy in sharing the works they make!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7196337009357860734.post-30307224723374284142014-02-25T03:14:46.024-06:002014-02-25T03:14:46.024-06:00your two of us does look complicated, love the col...your two of us does look complicated, love the colours you are using.I do like the diamond hexie. have a sissix machine and use it to cut the 1" cards but cut the fabric in rectangles by rotary cutter.Wastes a little fabric but is so much quicker. Lucky you going to a workshop with Victoria, think her book is one of my favourites, have you made a signed block for the quilts she is making? I have posted one hope it arrives.margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14225676137708827434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7196337009357860734.post-6543754011961671402014-02-24T14:41:07.036-06:002014-02-24T14:41:07.036-06:00Holy crow that cake is a lot of work! Good thing that being gluten-free makes it healthy, at least. ;)Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12224346283881001640noreply@blogger.com
