Easy Street Progress

I recently organized my fabrics in a closet refitted with shelves just for this reason. It has made it so much easier to see what I have and to access what I want. Above is the "before" picture. Here is the after:

All the shelves are now full. I am working feverishly  on Bonnie Hunter's "Easy Street" mystery quilt: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/11/easy-street-monday-link-up-1.html. This is a scrap quilt and since I loved Bonnie's color choices, I am adhering to them as closely as I can. All the fabrics have been pulled from my stash. Having everything so accessible has really moved this project along. It is so effortless to select what I want from the stacks. So far I am also keeping it orderly.

This is week one of the mystery quilt "Easy Street" and I have made all of the 192 four-patch blocks needed. Most of them still need to be pressed, but they are at least sewn together!

This is going to look really great with the other colors in the quilt.

  1. Love the scrappy greys along with the scrappy black/whites.

I am also in the process of refolding all my fabric stash and loving the look of it.

    Have a great week.

  2. It was a fair amount of work. but not as much as repeatedly having to dig through plastic boxes of fabric.

  4. I like the scrappy grays too! I have that same Michael Miller dot fabric in gray! It's so funny to see your own fabric in other people's stash! :)

  6. Dear UFO Queen, thanks for your comment. I love that fabric and wanted to look around for more, but it came in a fat quarter bundle and there was no name on the selvedge. Now I know, it's Michael Miller fabric!
